Helping Endurance Athletes Feed Their Passion...Naturally

Doris Romano Nutrition provides endurance athletes with the nutrition knowledge they need so they can achieve peak performance in their sport.

These days, the biggest challenge for endurance athletes is how to fuel their bodies optimally for training and competition.  Researchers have established that athletes tend to deplete vitamins, minerals, enzymes, coenzymes, and other substrates more than sedentary people do – it’s not just more calories that endurance athletes need; it’s the whole nutritional bag.

Research also proves that an overall nutritional program and specific fueling strategies for training and competition will allow athletes to train longer, recover more quickly, avoid injuries, and achieve their performance goals in any endurance endeavor.

Many of the problems that affect the performance and overall health of endurance athletes have nutritional causes.  Endurance athletes neglect or downplay the value of proper nutrition because they may think that all they need is a “balanced diet” or they feel that as long as they exercise, they can eat whatever and as much as they want.  Others complain it is difficult to find the time to research sports nutrition and tailor the information to their needs.  Proper nutrition, fluid replacement, and occasional supplements remain key to improving athletic performance.

Many athletes focus their time, money, and energy on training and equipment, but the best investment athletes can make is developing a sound nutritional program.  It is the only way to provide the body with the raw materials it needs for cellular energy production, waste product disposal, tissue repair and maintenance, muscle growth, disease prevention, climate adaptation, and other vital physiological functions.  Proper nutrition needs to be seen as a priority in order to achieve full potential as an athlete.

Doris Romano Nutrition has been guiding endurance athletes, from the professional to the amateur weekend warrior, to better workouts, increased performance, and impressive race results through winning food strategies.
