The majority of heart disease does not begin with a problem of the heart muscle itself, but rather, within the network of approximately 90,000km of blood vessels which join together making up our arterial system.  Functional and structural changes in the arterial wall precedes the development of obstructive coronary artery disease and hypertension, and if arterial elasticity loss is not addressed early, there is a high probability that the process will progress.
