What's your New Years Resolution? Rachelle Wood actually has 2, read all about them in this blog post.

Happy New Year blog readers! I hope that 2010 beings you and your loved ones much health and happiness.  If I’m known for anything, it’s for being a woman of my word. I swear when I set my mind up to something I tend to think very big. I’m a goal driven health junkie who gets her fix by helping others on the road to health and better living.  Kind of like the energizer bunny meets Jenny Craig, in-fact that’s a great way to describe me (I even have blonde hair).

I actually have 2 goals this year, one for my company and one for myself personally.  The Rachelle Wood Nutrition goal is to help Prince Edward Islanders lose 20 000 pounds! In 2009 my nutritional consulting practice helped Islanders lose over 18 000 pounds. That’s a whole lot of weight. It’s the customization process of my program which works for clients. I listen to them and create personalized meal plans to follow. If a client won’t eat seafood I don’t make them. The client is always in control of what they choose from the meal plan; however I control the amount of food. It’s a great system that is over 50 000 pounds successful!

I enjoy a really good challenge, so this year my personal resolution has to be BIG. I’d also like it to follow last years exercise theme. Infact by December 2010 I know I will be in the best shape I have ever been in.  This year for my resolution I have decided to train for the PEI Tip to Tip Bike race in October. The race is a fundraiser for Africa and participants help to raise money and awareness and through financial contribution help to fund a village.

The race is 276 km across PEI’s confederation tail and indeed form Tip to Tip. Meals and Accommodations are included for participants of this 3 day bike race. I must begin to train hard this winter and hit spin classes 2-3 times a week. I go to Mac Queen’s Indoor Cycling Studio on Queen Street and especially enjoy the 2 hour Saturday morning Endurance classes with certified spin instructor Marion Grant.  Once the snow melts I will begin biking the trails to trails in preparation of the bike race. Over the past few years I have already biked the entire eastern PEI portion,  over ½ of Queens County and around 100 km around Summerside in Prince County.

Aside from the tackling the physical aspect of the race, I will also have to mentally beat off exhaustion and possible sun stroke and or dehydration. It is important for me to train all areas of my body, so I will continue to hit various exercise classes throughout the year. Switching up your exercise routine will get you out of any rut, just remember to stay as dedicated.

I consider my blog my personal log and journal of accountability to my clients, no really to the entire world. Stay tuned to my blog in 2010 for updates along my road to race day, and check to see if I really do accomplish my goal.  Are you thinking about accomplishing the same goal? If so be prepared to lose ( joke). Every game I play in life I aim to win, I’m also a Leo and a very sore loser.

Happy Healthy New Year everyone, in all areas of life! May 2010 be your best year yet
