RHNs needed to be featured on CSNN website

CSNN is looking to feature successful RHNs on the CSNN website. We are looking to display the different applications of holistic nutrition and the positive contribution of RHNs. If you or a fellow RHN fit this criteria, please send your detailed profile to nadia@csnn.ca

In general, nutrition is an age old study, but the classroom study of holistic nutrition was first instituted in Canada in 1994 by Danielle Perrault.  Now the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition has 11 classroom branches across Canada plus a Distance Education branch. Branch contact information is found on our website, www.csnn.ca under ‘About Us’.

CSNN offers a comprehensive practical foundation program in Natural Nutrition leading to the Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) designation, an Advanced Nutrition program for holistic nutritionists, plus an Eldercare Program leading to the RECP designation. (www.csnn.ca). At CSNN we are committed to providing practical career tools, and strong support networks and student services.  CSNN publishes holistic nutrition books, some of which are exclusive to CSNN students.

At CSNN we are proud of our graduates, Registered Holistic Nutritionists (RHNs)*, who are increasingly being recognized and respected in the health care industry, and who are leaders in the holistic nutrition field.  Holistic Nutritionists* are dedicated professionals, who help educate individuals and the public about the health benefits of natural nutrition, in order to achieve optimal health. A Holistic Nutritionist* typically evaluates a client’s individual nutritional needs and then provides the client with an individualized plan which includes food, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations.  Foods recommended are natural, alive, and of good quality.  Holistic Nutritionists* provide meal plans and recipes for their clients and some provide cooking lessons and shopping tips.  Holistic Nutritionists* support local organic food and farming, are knowledgeable about optimal food production practices, and are conscious of the connection between the environment, whole foods, food preparation, and people’s health and wellbeing.

* In the Atlantic Provinces and Quebec, Registered Holistic Nutritionists refer to themselves as Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultants, and in Alberta they refer to themselves as either Holistic Nutritionists or Holistic Nutritional Consultants.

Advanced Nutrition Workshops at CSNN

CSNN’s Advanced Nutrition program has been developed primarily for CSNN graduates; however, it is also open to other designated health care professionals. The field of holistic nutrition is constantly growing, so it is important for holistic nutritionists to be current and competitive.

These advanced nutrition workshops lead to an Advanced Nutrition diploma.  The AN workshops AN106 & AN109 are required for professional membership in the U.S. organization, National Association of Nutrition Professionals.  The AN workshops also count as upgrade hours in other professional organizations.

CSNN’s Advanced Nutrition workshops are diverse, thus providing knowledge for various holistic nutrition specialties and applications.  These AN workshops are offered in both distance education and classroom formats.  To see the workshops offered, please go to ‘Programs’ on the CSNN website, www.csnn.ca, and contact your branch of choice for scheduling details.
