Fight Fat with Fat

Did you know that you can lose fat by eating fat?  Sounds crazy, right?  But it’s true.  Eating fat is vital for the elimination of fat. I know you have heard the expressions “good” fats and “bad” fats in the media or from your doctor.  The good fats, Omega 3’s found in nuts, flaxseed, other seeds and fish are not stored as fat like the “bad” fats.  These “good” fats are used for producing hormones and cellular function and increases energy levels.  They are so important to good health and if you can make these fats 12 to 15% of your total calorie intake, this triggers your body to burn the “bad” fat stored in places we would rather not talk about.  Another thing to note is that these Omega 3’s help your kidneys get rid of excess water held in your tissues and throughout your system.  You would be surprised how many extra pounds are water alone.  Bottom line....increase your Omega 3’s with good quality supplements, ground, cold pressed flaxseed in smoothies or cereals and fish as a part of your weekly diet.  Give it a try...you might be surprised.
