After 15 years of nursing at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, Kellie decided it was time to change the way she cared for children. As an emergency nurse, Kellie delivered standard medical treatments for asthma, seizure disorders, skin conditions, intestinal disturbances, autoimmune disorders and cancer on a daily basis. During this time, Kellie became aware that an important element was missing in the quest for health. Education, regarding the vast importance of natural nutrition and its role in the prevention and healing of disease was that missing element. This realization, lead Kellie to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where she graduated with honors in 2007. As a registered holistic nutritionist, Kellie now offers nutritional counseling to children and adolescents in Unionville, Ontario. Her holistic approach considers emotional state, enviromental factors, and school-life, and seeks to empower children to take responsibility for their health by tuning in to their bodies.
After a thorough assessment, Kellie collaborates with the child and parents to create a realistic plan that often includes lifestyle modifications in addition to nutriton recommendations. Kellie goes to great lengths to explain body processes to children in a mannor that is easy to understand and developmentally appropriate. Kellie assists parents with menu planning and finding alternatives to the processed foods kids love.
Kellie has a special interest in supporting children with hyperactivity, distractibility and lack of focus and offers parent’s fresh insight and support.
Kellie also advises competetive sports teams on nutrition for peak performance and enjoys speaking to groups about the benefits of a whole foods diet.

A Definition of "Organic"
Organic refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. It includes a system of production, processing, distribution and sales that assures consumers that the products maintain the organic integrity that begins on the farm. An organic product is that which is raised, grown, stored, and/or processed without the use of synthetically produced chemicals or fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, or any other pesticides, growth hormones or growth regulators, antibiotics, and must not be genetically modified. Only farmers who produce food according to a set of standards, undergo evaluation by other certified growers, and pass a yearly inspection by a trained independent inspector can label their products certified organic
