Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals

The Canadian Association of Holistic Nutritionist Professionals (CAHN-Pro) is now taking registration for Apprentices and Senior Holistic Nutritionists who want to be involved on the ground floor of the exciting national campaign to advance our profession and to promote the knowledge and standards of holistic nutritionist practices within Canada.

Through our united efforts, CAHN-Pro will make certain that holistic nutritionists receive the credibility and acclaim we deserve. CAHN-Pro’s initiatives are designed to make us marketable to the private and public sectors and recognized by governments and insurance providers.

CAHN-Pro’s mandate:

• Conduct holistic nutrition research (as all other professions have done) with documented results providing credibility for what holistic nutritionists do. We have also created a great system that allows all members to participate in this study 
• Teach the practical application of holistic nutrition to ensure graduates and holistic nutritionists working in the field stay up to date with current trends and research
• Assist new graduates and holistic nutritionists who are struggling to find work create holistic nutrition businesses, providing materials and professional information from successful senior nutritionists
• Provide all members with a job search database, usable information and real support and guidance for promoting themselves  
• Create a membership with the consistent standards that all levels of government and all insurance companies insist on for recognition, and at the same time help members be the best professionals they can be.

CAHN-Pro is a sincere, joint effort from a number of holistic nutritionists across the country, three and half years in the making. We have done our homework and all the research and we know what needs to be done for recognition of our profession across Canada. As members of CSNNAA, you are aware of the discussions we have had both in the newsletters and the polls we have conducted with the members. We received overwhelming support to create an organization that works on our behalf supporting the concept of holistic nutrition and create sustainable employment! Well, this is it and there is more information in the attached newsletter. It is important to understand that we are doing everything on a national level, making all we do easily adaptable and advantageous to RHN’s no matter where they live. New opportunities are presented to us every week but we need to have a good cross-section of senior nutritionists and apprentices to take advantage of them, especially on the west coast. This has been a collective effort with many members making a contribution including some of the most senior successful RHN’s and key holistic nutrition educators in the country, giving our members the advantage of their knowledge. There has never been an effort like this with so many providing their efforts and goodwill to our common goals.
