“The CSNN Alumni Association is a national organization dedicated to the support and advancement of those women and men who have graduated from the
Mission
- To share information and to keep members up to date
- To pass on information from the CSNN and other relevant organizations.
- To provide an Alumni Membership list for networking purposes.
Objectives
- To maintain an up-to-date registry of members and graduates.
- To share contact information with members.
- To promote and facilitate the networking of members.
- To publish a regular newsletter for distribution to members.
- To create information sharing and educational events for the members.
- To create and recommend policies and programs to protect and promote the CSNN designations held by members.
- To keep the membership informed on proposed legislative changes at all levels of government that would affect our business.
- To promote the continuing quality and reputation of Alumni members by encouraging them to stay current on subjects related to wellness and nutrition.
Code of Ethics for a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.)
1. Maintain an interest in the well-being of all human beings, regardless of color, creed or nationality, and in the care of planet Earth.
2. Respect the right of his/her client as an individual in all respects, as to personal tastes, morals and social values.
3. Be non-judgmental as to the life values and experience of the client.
4. Treat the client under all circumstances with due concern for the dignity of the individual.
5. Respect the confidential nature of his/her relationship with the client and protect the confidentiality of assessment and recorded documents.
6. Guide and counsel his/her client in the best way to achieve optimal health through natural nutrition, but always respect the right and need for the client to make the final decision in all wellness plans.
7. Teach the client to accept responsibility for his/her own health, choices and actions.
8. Recognize the need to work co-operatively with other disciplines, holistic or allopathic, to best serve the clients’ need, respecting the unique contributions of each discipline.
9. Provide professional services only in the area for which she/he has competence and training.
10. Accept full responsibility for the consequences of her/his own acts.
11. Respect differences of opinion and exercise tact and diplomacy in interpersonal relations.
12. Resolve to improve and maintain her/his professional competence in the field of natural nutrition and holistic health care.
Code of Ethics for Registered Elder Care Practitioners (R.E.C.P.)
1. Maintain an interest in the well-being of all human beings, regardless of colour, creed or nationality, and in the care of planet Earth.
2. Respect the right of our elders as individuals, as to personal tastes, morals and social values.
3. Be non-judgmental as to the life values and past experience of our elders.
4. Treat our elders under all circumstances with dignity and respect.
5. Respect all confidences of which he/she may be cognizant regarding our elders’ circumstances and that of their families.
6. Seek the sole benefit of our elders in all matters requiring his/her counsel and guidance.
7. Counsel and assist our elders to maintain their control over the conditions that determine their quality of life and allow freedom of choice.
8. Promptly and forcefully deal with suspected abuse of elders.
9. Demonstrate courage and compassion for those affected when facing death and grieving.
10. Accept full responsibility for the consequences of his/her own actions.
11. Provide professional services only in those areas in which she/he has competence and training.
12. Recognize the need to work co-operatively with other disciplines, holistic and allopathic to best serve our elders, respecting the unique contribution of each discipline.
13. Respect differences of opinion and exercise tact and diplomacy in interpersonal relations.
14. Resolve to improve and maintain his/her professional competence in the field of gerontology and holistic health care.
Conditions of Membership
- That you be a graduate of the
- That you pay the appropriate membership fee and renew your membership on an annual basis.
- That you undertake to accept and abide by the Code of Ethics.
- That you maintain your membership “in good standing”. A member in good standing is a member who is current with the membership fee and who has had no complaints filed against her/him.
- That any Membership may be removed or cancelled by the CSNN Alumni Association whenever any member:
1. ceases to abide by the conditions of membership
2. fails to maintain her/his membership by not paying the annual membership dues
3. brings or is deemed likely to bring discredit upon either the CSNN or the CSNN Alumni Association
Privacy Policy
Use, disclosure and retention of information; Personal information collected (i.e. name, address, phone number and email address), is used to maintain a registry of all CSNN graduates as well as a membership list that is given to each Alumni member.
The membership list is used for newsletter mail-outs and other communication as necessary. Members may use the membership directory as a tool for mutual support and networking with other members. Personal information on members is required by CSNN to validate a 10% discount off the fees for post-graduate workshops, etc. This information may also be given to the public upon request for a nutritional consultant in a specified area.
Changes to contact information may be made in writing or by email to the Treasurer/Membership coordinator.
Safeguards are taken to ensure that personal information is secure.
